Donation Advice

  1. Do your homework! Know that your intentions are respected. Ask about concerns and expect a quick concise response. Most, if not all, of your Basic Progress questions are answered online and available to the public.

  2. Your partnering commitment should be budgeted as a monthly expense. Your spiritual discipline will bring blessings of family stability and personal satisfaction. By partnering with BP, you are building your community.

  3. Keep track of your charitable contributions. Basic Progress will provide a personalized annual report at the end of the fiscal year (1/1 . 12/31), but be wise. Contributions over $250 receive a receipt meeting IRS standards.

  4. Be aware of gifts or services promised in return for donations. The amount of the tax deduction is reduced by the fair market value of the premium (book, dinner, consultation). Consult a professional for applicable rules.

  5. Matching gifts can geometrically empower your contribution. If you want to challenge others, make that clear. Your donation will not be used until it is matched. Basic Progress is a targeted donation (specific need.)

  6. You may determine that your donation be confidential or anonymous or you may want to be listed as a BP partner. If you are giving a memoriam to honor or remember somebody. Basic Progress will honor your request.

  7. There are creative ways to make a difference through BP: endowments, bequests, annuities, in kind gifts or volunteering. Discuss your desires with family, friends or a professional about how to maximize your assets.

  8. Follow up on your donation. Charity scams and identity theft are a reality. Do not ever provide any unsecured information. With BP, your donation is secure and all personal information will never be shared.

  9. Don't forget you have the right to say no. Give generously, but if you're unsure or uncomfortable, ask for more information, take more time or just don't do it. Giving is a sacred activity. Do not do it with a fearful heart.

  10. Be a proactive giver, Basic Progress would rather God inspire you to give freely than to have to request your help. When giving, avoid cash gifts. It may be best to send a check, payable to Basic Progress. Thank you for partnering!
