Immortality	Belief of continued existence beyond physical death; details vary among religions.
Impassioned	emotional quality of understood bonding with spouse, family, friends, etc.
Incarnation	Deity becoming human as in a avatar; Christianity based on this claim for Jesus.
Incense	Fragrant smoke used in worship by burning any aromatic substance; symbolic of prayer.
Inclusionism	Belief that all religious are products of cultural context; all are acceptable paths to deity.
Initiation	Rite of passage marking the coming of age, membership, or transition into a different status.
Insan	Islamic term for man; Allah's representative with immortal soul.
Instinct	an inborn pattern of activity; a natural or unlearned inclination or tendency to action common to a given biological species.
Institution	An established law, social behavior, community custom, cultural tradition, famous person, ritualistic practice, or high profile organization that is integral to the life of a community.
Internal	relational dialogue with self; self perception.
Interpersonal	relational capacity for human interaction.
Inventory	A catalog or detailed listing; a tally of one's personality traits, aptitudes, skills.
Iridology	Diagnosis of mental or physical illness by reading the color patterns of the eye's irises.
Isanagi	Shinto sky god. father of Amaterasu. With his consort, Isanami, he created islands of Japan.
Ishvara	Hindu personal deity or Lord.
Islam	('submission') Monotheistic religion; sources of authority are the Qur'an, Hadith, and Qiyas; Arabic is holy language; founded by Muhammad.
