Prayer

Mark 14:38
"Watch and pray
so that you will not fall into temptation.
The spirit is willing, but the body is weak."

Prayer is the doorway into the House of God; it is our conversation with God. We have to develop the continual practice of respectfully acknowledging the presence of God in our midst. Prayer is essential to the conditioning of a Christian and of all the disciplines in the Christian walk, it is the foundation. Our conversation can be casual or gothic, it can be happy, sad, desperate, or grateful. There is no grammatical formula. It can be aloud or silent, angry or humble, or even bathed in tears. For us to attain to the likeness of Christ, prayer must be an inherent characteristic of our daily life and lifestyle.

God probably already knows what our needs are before we pray, but He loves us enough not to force Himself on us. It is our choice to interact. In response God answers our requests with amazing grace. The benefits and the indirect effects of prayer are undeniable to those who do it. It molds us, it predisposes us to further prayer. Prayer is the accompaniment to all forms of discipline, moments of worship, feelings of endearment, and the days of our life. It is the language of the heart. The assertive response by God, whether yes or no, is a remarkable blessing: .Who am I, that God would respond?. Well, that is easy,... We are important enough for His only begotten son to die for us! God loves you and me. He is our Creator and Lord. We are forgiven!

We do not pray because "it works," We pray because it is our nature. We pray because we enjoy conversing with our creator and our savior. We pray because we have to, because we need to and most importantly we pray because we can.
